Complaint by Kazakhstan
On 10 April 2026, Kazakhstan requested consultations with Indonesia with respect to the imposition of additional ad valorem import duties on imports of hot-rolled steel coils originating in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan claimed that the additional import duties appear to be inconsistent with:
- Articles I:1, II:1(a), II:1(b), X:3(a), VI:2, and VI:6(a) of the GATT 1994;
- Articles 1, 3.1, 6.1, 6.2, 6.5.1, 6.8, 6.9, 9.3, 11.1, 11.3, 12.2.2, 13, 18.1, and 18.4 of the Anti-Dumping Agreement; and
- Article XVI:4 of the Marrakesh Agreement.
On 22 April 2026, the Russian Federation requested to join the consultations.
