AI for Trade in Action: Case studies
AI is increasingly being used across international trade, including in customs clearance, regulatory compliance, logistics, trade finance and market research. Building on WTO research into AI’s potential to reduce trade costs, this series of case studies explores how organizations are applying the technology in practice and the specific ways in which it is making trade faster, less costly or more accessible. Each case study documents the deployment of an AI system aimed at addressing a trade-related challenge, the solution developed or adopted, implementation difficulties and reported results.
